This comfortable family home in Belfast required a complete renovation. This included structural work, installing three new steel beams, and a full damp-proof course installed by radication,
The entire downstairs received a drilled damp-proof course, floorboards were taken up throughout, and two new bathrooms were fitted. A new kitchen was fitted by an outside firm, and the roof-space insulated with a raised floor installed.
New skirting boards were fitted throughout, with internal doors and architraves, and plastered throughout. We installed a wood-burning stove, including lining the chimney, and removing old fireplaces from the property. Theses were made good for the new stove and made square and clean.
The rear window was removed and replaced with Aluminium tri-fold doors opening onto a newly installed patio. A stylish old banister was stripped and repainted / stained, restoring it to its original beauty. The kitchen was supplied and fitted by another firm with RBC carrying out all preparation work for the kitchen installation and tiling the space afterwards.
The property was fully rewired and a complete new gas central heating system installed. Walls were removed inside opening up rooms and increasing living space.
The renovated interior space then joined beautifully to the newly installed patio through the tri-fold doors, providing a luxurious and homely connection to the outdoors. The floor-to-ceiling glass flooded the room with light.
Outside drainage pipe was installed and connected to the storm drain system. New guttering and down-pipes fitted.
A new patio and back step was installed, giving a modern and distinct feel to the space. RBC laid the slabs on a bed of compacted gravel and mortar mix, ensuring many years of stability. A careful levelling of the site ensures puddles don’t form and rainwater clears either to the grass or the drains.
The internal walls were clad with 50mm insulated plasterboard to create a cosy living environment.
RBC took care of every aspect of this substantial project, from sourcing the double glazed doors and assessing suitability of the work, to opening the walls, installing the beams and new head, fitting the doors, and making good of all the plastering and electrical work inside, while an outside firm supplied and installed the kitchen.
The client was delighted with the finished work, the home felt new a new house upon completion.
