This project was to extend the side of a single-storey home within permitted development rules, to within one metre of their property line. The existing wall was removed and a steel beam installed to support the roof, a span of almost 5 metres. A new, elevated ceiling held three Velux roof windows, flooding the space with natural light. The bathroom was fully renovated next to this space and fitted with luxurious and contemporary furnishings, and finished in marble tile.

This project added a tremendous amount of useful living space to the home, opening up kitchen & living space, replacing a narrow shaded patio. A five-metre steel beam removed the need for a supporting wall or steel posts, giving the client freedom to arrange kitchen furniture in a layout that best suited them.
Foundations were excavated and concrete poured, after several weeks, the remaining earth was removed and a sub-floor laid and compacted. The external bricks were removed and the roof supported, shortly followed by the internal brickwork. A timber temporary wall was installed to keep the home warm and clean while the work was carried out, minimising disruption within the home.
RBC carried out all aspects of this project, with an Robinson Interiors supplied and fitted the kitchen. RBC excavated foundations, built brick & structural work, taking the project through to final paint and clean. The work was completed to a high standard, and handed over to the client on schedule.
